We had so much fun at Jo-Anne Fabrics last
year, that Jenna wanted to go back for her
party this year. Instead of keepsake boxes,
this year we decorated tee-shirts, followed by
decorating cupcakes. It was a great time! Thanks
everyone for coming and helping Jenna to
celebrate her special day.
Morgan, Jenna and Sophia are working
hard on decorating their peace symbols.
By the end of the day, Jenna's was about a
half an inch thick with paint. She LOVED it.
Michael, Ian and Joshua working hard too.
More party people...Blaine, Taylor, Drew and
Chelsea are concentrating on getting it just right.

sprinkles or icing on that cupcake.
The party was a wonderful success.
However, it ended on a slightly sad
note. We (me, Morgan, Chelsea and
Jenna) had the mini-cart we
borrowed from the store piled high
with gifts and party supplies. Jenna
had to carry her shirt out on the
cardboard it was painted on, no room
on the cart. A big gust of wind came
up and flipped the painted shirt right
into Jenna's face. She looked like she
was in a pie fight. She couldn't speak
because her nose and mouth were painted
shut. She couldn't see because her eyes
where also painted shut. She started to
panic so I told her to blow air out her nose.
So here we are in the middle of the parking
lot, standing next to the car, cart piled high
with our new treasures and Jenna panicing.
Thankfully Chelsea was there because I
couldn't just leave the cart. She took Jenna's
hand and ran her inside. I threw the stuff in
the car as fast as I could and headed in
afterwards. By the time I got there, Chelsea
had gotten 3/4 of the paint off of Jenna's face.
Once cleaned up, we surveyed the damage on
the shirt. It was smeared pretty badly. But,
Jenna, the ever optimist, happily reported
that she would just make a new one once she
got home and it would be even better than the
first one. I was so grateful for Chelsea's extra
set of hands!
Despite the paint in the face moment, it was
a great day. Thank you to all for helping Jenna
celebrate her 7th birthday!
